Pure Profiles: Angus & Grace

We caught up with Matt Burns, the founder of Angus & Grace Go Golfing to talk inspiration, first products and what he's building next.

So Matty, what actually sparked the brand?
“Seeing all of the terrible merch at pro shops.”

And the very first thing you made?
“I think we started off with Australian made merino polo shirts.”

If someone’s coming to AAGG for the first time, what’s the one piece they have to own?
“I would say probably the shorts, they are super useful.”

What’s got you most excited right now, looking ahead?
“Our new cashmere workshop.”

Every golfer has one… what’s the club you could never take out of the bag?
“The spaceship, my baby Ben.”

Best golf trip you’ve ever been on?
“Hmm, I am pretty lucky that I get to go on a lot… They are all fun!”

On the flip side - one golf fashion trend you’d happily see disappear?
“Stretchy quarter zips.”

Alright, important one - best pre-round coffee spot or post-round beer?
“That balcony at Portsea is pretty good. The hot chips at Arrowtown are outstanding.”

What product idea are you obsessed with at the moment?
“Our new puffy vests, keep an eye out for them in May.”

Current swing thought?
“Be more like Jin Young Ko everyday.”

And to finish - who’s the most stylish past or present golfer?
“Vijay is the man, I am really into the visors and trail shoes.”
